Hikvision POC [Power Over Coax] recorders provide the power to cameras with both power and data transmitted via a single coaxial video cable of RG59 or similar, therefore removing the need for additional cables and power supplies otherwise required for CCTV systems. This therefore reduces the additional prep work needed for setting up a CCTV system, providing a more cost efficient and often, quicker installation. Please note: POC transmission will not pass through CAT5/6 or baluns, it must be through RG59 or similar.
Use a POC camera and POC recorder together for optimum benefits, or power your own standard camera via a separate PSU and POC will only transmit when requested to by a compatible camera.
